Autograph letter signed : Woodford, Arthur Moore, 1889 Feb. 3.

Hoping to see Moore soon, in order to discuss "'Ludovicus' & other matters." Proposing an idea: "that we start a small manuscript book in which we both write ... You write chap[ter] I & send it to me, I then return you the booklet with chap[ter] II & so on. Each writing on one side of the page only -- & each having liberty to add & interpolate on the fly leaf of the other's portion." Inquiring how well Moore thinks it will work, and stating "Of course we must get at least 1 chapter done a week." Discussing a performance of Hamlet, praising the scenery and disparaging the actors. Mentioning "La Complainte Humaine," noting that "Jean Thorel" [pseudonym of Jean Raymond Virgile Bouthors] has asked Dowson for names and addresses of "English gens de lettres," and that Dowson has suggested Swinbourne, Lang, Oscar Wilde & Lady Dilke "as the most feasible."
